    DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW 

    The Wildfire Risk Organization is responsible for assisting the company to act decisively and transparently to prevent fires of consequence from being caused by our equipment.  The organization will develop objectives to 1) prevent fires of consequence originating from our equipment; 2) meet all commitments outlined in our Wildfire Mitigation Plan; 3) continue to foster trusted relationships with key stakeholders; and 4) Develop consistent processes and work standards through the implementation of the Lean Operating System for sustainable operations going into 2022 and beyond.

     

    POSITION SUMMARY 

    The work location will be determined by the hiring leader and the successful candidate.  Occasional travel required to San Ramon or Oakland office.

     

    The Expert Business Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting PG&E’s wildfire risk reduction efforts.  The Business Analyst is responsible for research, data analysis, and reporting in support of business decision making, business strategy and business operations.  May also be involved in business process improvement, quality control and special projects and other initiatives. This is a fast-paced, high-impact and high-visibility role that puts this individual right in the center of the company’s vast wildfire mitigation activities.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform analysis of highly complex data models that have cross functional impact.
    • Apply advanced knowledge to wide ranging issues.
    • Develop innovative data solutions to address complex business issues.
    • Present findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
    • Develop business cases in support of strategy or change initiatives.
    • Work with and leverages relationships and Directors and Managers across functions/PG&E
    • Manage cross-functional projects or initiatives.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    Minimum:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience
    • 6 years of data analytics, program management, and/or project management related experience

     

    Desired: 

    • Self-motivated
    • Extensive knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics.
    • Depth and breadth of expertise in multiple qualitative and quantitative analytical methods, approaches, and tactics
    • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity and develop frameworks and structure
    • Utility, energy, or regulatory industry experience; advanced understanding of the utility or energy industry drivers, issues, and trends
    • Highly exceptional writing skills experienced with analyzing complex and technical content and translating into easily digestible content and compelling storytelling for wider audiences.
    • Creative and strategic problem-solving skills to develop new, innovative solutions
    • Strong analytical and writing skills to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
    • Influence, negotiation & persuasion skills to gain agreement on recommendations
    • Advanced project management skills & knowledge to lead the largest most complex projects across the line of business supported
    • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
    • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers
    • Project management skills to lead large and complex projects working with cross functional teams.
