Operations manager - Refinishing plant
Based in Sugar Land, Texas; PG Golf LLC is the world’s largest recycled golf ball company and leading golf course supplier. PG Golf LLC is looking for an Operations manager that can lead a new project to build and start up a golf ball Refinishing plant in our operations.
Summary:
Direct and manage the Manufacturing activities for the Refinishing operations. Direct the start-up project, new equipment installation, staffing, and production in this new operation. This role will coordinate and lead both internal and external resources to implement new processes designed to enhance PG Golf’s existing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coach and develop Team Leaders and hourly staff to expand their capabilities over time. Ensures Department Team Leaders and operators function as a Team with the best results for the department.
- Lead Safey, Quality Improvement, Cost reduction, and Productivity efforts to drive a continuous improvement environment throughout Refinishing operations. Hire, utilize and train staff and select associates in the use of Lean Six Sigma troubleshooting and Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools.
- Work with PG Leadership Team to determine long-term direction and create appropriate action plans.
- Develop appropriate production, staffing, budget plans, etc. to meet business plan and department objectives in support of Refinishing plant deliverables.
- Develop sufficient Technical Capability to run an efficient, low-cost operation.
- Interface with Plant and Corporate Advanced Engineering to implement new product and process technologies in the Refinishing plant operations.
REQUIREMENTS
• BS in Engineering/technical discipline or other 4-year degree in a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive growth in Manufacturing operations management, including experience leading and coaching professional level associates to deliver outstanding results.
• Preferred Lean/Six Sigma knowledge
• Advanced knowledge in Paints and Coatings manufacturing processes.
• Strong communications skills
• Role will support Refinishing project. Domestic travel is required up to 25% of the time depending on project requirements.
• Project work may require weekend and extended days to meet project deadlines.
• AutoCAD skills required. Advance Excel, Power Point, database management tools.
