We presently have an opportunity for a SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR in our DATA TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS department. This Systems Administrator will oversee the proper design, implementation and operation of technology resources in order to maximize system availability and performance for the PGA TOUR scoring systems. The Systems Administrator also supports the Data Technology Solutions and Golf technology teams through strategic planning, monitoring, project management and customer support.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Bachelor's degree in information systems/management or equivalent work experience, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred
Two years administration of Linux Servers (Redhat preferred)
Two years administration of a Microsoft Azure cloud environment including virtual machines, app services, etc.
Five years administration of network/systems administration/technical support, Microsoft Windows 2012 / 2016 / 2019 servers, and VMWare
Prior experience with backup/restoration processes and operations; building consistent, automated system and software installation packages for servers and workstations, Apache Web Server, and DNS. Experience with using VMWare in the cloud (VCD) is a plus.
Thorough understanding of the following: server administration concepts, networking and application concepts, troubleshooting and problem solving. Work schedule to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
Experience in scripting (BASH, PowerShell, Perl) and building required automation (using standard technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef) and tools
Ability to lead and contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation (OS, database services, virtual networks, or other platform services)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, implement, test and troubleshoot application systems
Design, implement, test and troubleshoot Windows and Linux based server infrastructures
Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
Performs system backups and recovery
Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity
Define instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the daily functions network and operations datacenter
Installs, maintains, and performs firmware upgrades of server and storage class hardware (Dell, Lenovo preferred)
Perform maintenance of network and application security
Design, implement, test and troubleshoot consistent system images to servers with the least amount of human intervention and the greatest amount of consistency
Design, implement, test and troubleshoot a platform image for client machines to allow the easiest/most consistent implementation with the least amount of human intervention
Lead projects using PMI Project Management Methodologies
Coordinate remediation of items discovered by security team vulnerability scanning
Assist in budget process by determining necessary hardware and obtaining price estimates
Perform Third Level Help Desk support
Special projects or other duties as assigned
