    This position is responsible for supporting all public relations efforts of the organization to maintain a positive image of the brand. Works with service line leaders; communications and public relations manager; and marketing consultants to ensure social media and media efforts support corporate and service line goals and maximize brand exposure. Supports proactive and reactive media relations efforts as well as assists in enterprisewide events on campus and in the community. Responsible for overall coordination of internal and external publications for the integrated delivery system (IDS) including story lists, production timelines, editing, and distribution. This role will monitor the day-to-day coordination of social media efforts for the enterprise and will work directly with social media interns to achieve goals.This individual will also provide support of written collateral including fact sheets, bios, press releases, and press kits. This position will support the organization’s crisis communications response efforts.

    Required Skills

    • Must have experience in content creation and development for social media, press release writing, feature and blog writing
    • Must be prolific in interviewing and story development research methods.
    • Must have an understanding of social media analytics
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Must have basic knowledge of public and community relations strategies and tactics. 
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work effectively with media, the public and other audiences.
    • Must possess ability to organize, plan daily activities and demonstrate initiative with minimal supervision and to complete projects under pressure of deadlines.
    • Must be able to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
    • Must have understanding of the local, regional and national media markets.
    • Must have an understanding of social media and online media outlets.
    • Must be knowledgeable of social media best practices and keep up with trends.
    • Ability to help mentor interns.
    • Must develop and maintain relationships with government, media and community leaders.
    • Experience establishing good working relationship with vendors including freelance graphic designers, printers and mailing houses
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to meet and deal pleasantly and effectively with a variety of professionals at all levels within the organization as well as with patients and community members.
    • Experience in production of collaterals, feature writing, press release writing, interviewing and story development research methods. 
    • Ability to present a clear flow of information with one voice representing the brand.
    • Strong editing skills.
    • Working knowledge of desktop publishing and graphic design.
    • Ability to work with a team and colleagues to execute events.
    • Must have basic knowledge of production of internal and external communications.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing or other related discipline.
    • Three (3) years public relations, corporate communications, marketing, social media or event management experience, if possible in a corporate or agency setting strongly preferred.
    • Maintain a current California Driver’s License and proof of insurance.

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Previous healthcare experience.
    • Digital production and design
