POSITION TITLE: NETWORK ENGINEER II (JOB ID: 0002897349)
LOCATION: OVERLAND PARK KS 66251
DURATION: 7+ MONTH’S CONTRACT
- Network Engineer II is responsible for complex and diverse network platforms/topologies within a network management center or organization.
- The candidate provides technical support by analyzing hardware and/or software data, identifying the root cause of the problem and developing/implementing hardware and/or software solutions.
- Candidate will be responsible for design, integration, operation and management of complex enterprise networks, linking a variety of platforms, operating systems, network topologies and network protocols.
- Candidate makes recommendations related to network architecture, evaluation of hardware and software products and problem resolution.
- Bachelor¿s Degree in Engineering or other related field or equivalent experience. 5-8 years of related work experience.
US CITIZEN REQUIRED, NOT A DRIVING POSITION, SPRINT CELL PHONE IS NOT REQUIRED.
- Responsible for protecting Sprint's information assets, data, and other information through enforcement of Sprint's Information Security Policy.
- Responsible for research, design, development, implementation, and operation of complex security solutions.
- Responsible for identifying potential information and network security risks and vulnerabilities. Provides consultation on possible solutions to mitigate risks and enhance Sprint's security posture.

THE PERSON IN THIS POSITION WILL WORK IN THE OVERLAND PARK, KS HEADQUARTERS CAMPUS. SOME TELECOMMUTE AVAILABLE AFTER TRIAL PERIOD.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Evaluates and develops secure solutions, based on approved security architectures. Analyzes business impact and exposure, based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and risks.
- Strong experience with a broad range of security technologies, including Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper SRX firewalls, and Cisco ASA
- Ability to obtain a US security clearance: US Citizenship required
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience with TCP/IP networking, routing, and firewalls
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complicated networking environments
- Strong foundation in information security
- Individual must be self-managed and demonstrate initiative to resolve complicated matters on their own.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree and five years related work experience or seven years related work experience post high school
- Three years network security experience
- Two Year Routing and Switching
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Some experience with Unix/Linux and Windows system administration;
- Python scripting experience
