JOB SUMMARY
Potential candidates must be able to work closely with the Lead Technician, Project Manager and Network Engineer on fiber optic and wireless network equipment commissioning and integration activities. Potential candidates must be able to assist in construction, inspection, and maintenance of communication Equipment and Technology. Potential candidates must be responsible for demonstrating a sufficient aptitude for acquiring the skills and knowledge involved in the competent performance of the tasks relating to communications equipment installation and troubleshooting activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct site acceptance procedures
Order and maintain inventory stock supplies
Cleans, maintains, and stocks vehicles and equipment in order to be prepared to perform required duties
Build wireless steelwork; assemble for antenna hook up
Install antennas, coax lines, fiber trunks, DC cables; adjust antenna direction and degree angle shooting
Connect jumpers and running cables; connecting these and ground work to units
Ground steel, weatherproofing, cable grounds, unit assembly
Inspects existing ground or makes new ground according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) in order to protect employees, customers, and equipment from electrical shock or damage
Off-loading material and inventory; preparation and cleaning of sites
Translate diagrams, installation manuals, floor plans and methods of procedure into a properly installed and working product
Use a computer to configure equipment using provided documentation via web or console interface
Completes associated paperwork with each work order in a timely manner in order to ensure all details of the work are recorded

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Possesses strong telecommunications product and industry knowledge
Utility Telecommunications or SCADA system experience
Operational level knowledge and experience with Linux/Unix
REHL and /or Ubuntu distributions preferred
- One or more scripting languages: Shell / Perl / Python
