THE TEAM
Simply put, we work and win as a team. The Finance team is small (we are a core group of 3), dynamic, and integrated. You will report to the Head of Finance for Independent Electric, however we operate with very little rank in the room. We are an experienced group of professionals with backgrounds spanning several Fortune 500 companies, tech companies, and start-ups. We believe in working smart vs working hard, empowering each other, candor, care, and continuous improvement. We are focused, we prioritize, and we value real results more than noise.
THE FUNCTION
Life in Finance at Independent Electric is exciting! We are at the strategic hub of a successful, competitive, collegial logistics company dominant in the markets it serves. Finance serves a critical role; we optimize the business through operational partnership, insight, analytics, and modeling, and we ensure compliance with internal and external controls. Our scope spans Accounting, FP&A, Strategic Planning, Process Improvement, and Data Management. Needless to say we are integrated into the business and work horizontally and vertically across the organization.
THE JOB
This role will initially be focused on the compliance / accounting environment, working closely with the Shared Services Accounting team to close our books and maintain data integrity. As you gain familiarity with the role, you will have the opportunity to grow along the Financial Planning track, taking increasing ownership over modeling, operational finance, and planning and analysis.
The position will be based out of San Leandro full-time, with minimal travel requirements. The team allows work from home 1-2 days per week.
