    The role of a store manager is to manage the daily operations and sales activities in the store including counter sales, merchandising, warehousing and administrative functions, and evaluation and training of associates consistent with Viking's high standards and service commitments in a cost effective, safe manner and comply with company policies and procedures. Addition duties and responsibilities are:

    • Manage store operations including counter area, show floor, warehouse material handling, inventory control and safety.
    • Delegate and assign duties for the efficient running of the facility while managing overtime.
    • Train, supervise, and coach associates in products, procedures and selling skills. Facilitate development of their potential. Promote teamwork and interdepartmental cooperation.
    • Provide feedback on promotions, new product, and discontinued or inactive products.
    • Respond to policy changes, sales efforts, promotions, VE Synergy tie ins and specials professionally.
    • Look for local sales opportunities and improve customer awareness of Viking.
    • Keep associates informed and up to date about company, customers, products and promotions.
    • Maintain building and grounds to present an attractive and secure facility.
    • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, on hand balance corrections and physical inventory.
    • Provide customer quotations and product information as requested.
    • Participate in and follow all Viking policies, guidelines, and procedures.

    Required Skills

    • Strong organizational, communication, supervisory and sales skills.
    • Good PC skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email and internet use.
    • Supervisory skills-ability to manage staffing, performance review, mentor and supervise staff.
    • Must be able to prioritize and delegate multiple tasks.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

    Required Experience

    • Three years sales/city desk experience & five years experience in a operations, logistics, or distribution environment.
    • Knowledge of VE’s systems, processes, products, and market knowledge preferred.
  • Qualifications
