    Summary

    A results-oriented leader who inspires with creativity and energy responsible for managing, directing and leading a high performing inside sales team.  The Sales Manager will also devise plans and strategies to expand the existing customer base as well as growing our footprint at existing accounts.  The individual will work closely with the Branch Manager and Regional Manager to achieve strategic growth and profitability goals.

     

    Essential Functions

    • Exceed team sales and profitability targets
    • Monitor the sales team’s performance, evaluate and implement changes to ensure the team’s continual success
    • Conduct selling efforts as needed
    • Partner with the Branch Manager to manage budget and develop the initiatives to ensure all revenue, profit and service goals are achieved
    • Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance
    • Oversee resource planning, reporting, territories, incentives and communications for the assigned team.
    • Participate in client interactions to ensure cross training, customer satisfaction and management involvement regularly.
    • Create and implement a program to grow our house account business
    • Create and leverage marketing programs to drive new product volume
    • Document key service requirements for our top accounts
    • Actively engage in customer satisfaction issues
    • Conduct one-on-one reviews with sales reps to access performance, provide guidance and identify development needs
    • Conduct annual performance reviews to advance our performance management culture
    • Work closely with the training and development manager to develop an ongoing competency program for the Inside Sales Team.
    • Collaborate with marketing, credit, IT, purchasing, operations and outside sales to facilitate new programs, messages, campaigns and offerings.
    • Set an example for Inside Sales Representatives in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
    • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility, work environment and physical demands

    • This position has some supervisory responsibility.

    • This position works in a normal office environment as well as a warehouse environment, with standard office equipment. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. while working in the office.  The noise level in the warehouse environment is usually moderate and temperature can change based on the season.  This position also requires frequent travel to customer sites, which can be in a variety of environments including outdoor with inclement weather.

    • Work is sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 60% of the time.

    • Work can involve the operation of forklift, equipment such as pallet jacks and climb ladders; bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

    • Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) preferred and five (5) to seven (7) years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
