    SUMMARY: 

    The primary role of the IT Technical Support position is to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot and repair computer systems, hardware, install software and computer peripherals and to provide technical support to end users.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware systems and install appropriate software and hardware as directed by Corporate IT.
    • Member of the Sonepar Help desk – support Sonepar in IT initiatives at the local level.
    • Support and maintain user account information including rights, security and system groups.
    • Active Directory administration
    • Update company email with technical tips and brief documents
    • Evaluate system potential through assessing compatibility of new programs with existing programs
    • Assist in improving existing programs by evaluating objectives and specifications, reviewing proposed changes and making recommendations.
    • Provide technical support to end users on a variety of issues, identify, research and resolve technical problems. Be responsive to phone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support. Maintain level of confidentiality with regards to user’s information/passwords
    • Prepare reference material and operation instructions to assist users
    • Maintain system functionality by testing computer components
    • Achieve computer stem objectives through collecting relevant data, identifying and evaluating options and suggesting course of action to be taken
    • Document, track and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution.
    • Travel to and support all locations as needed

    Required Skills

    Knowledge of commonly-used IT concepts, practices and procedures

    Basic data network construction and troubleshooting techniques

    Basic understanding of security camera and intrusion systems

    Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

    Demonstrate high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential information

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Proficient with Microsoft Applications and Internet navigation

    Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and handle multiple projects simultaneously

    Must be a team player and be able to work with internal and external people at all levels 

    Required Experience

    2 year college degree or equivalent business experience
