    Drive your career further by joining Independent Electric as a Transportation Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of drivers and other transportation professionals to delivery products safely and efficiently to our customers.

    Independent Electric Supply operates in several locations in both California and Arizona.     WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Analysis, creation and modification of truck delivery routes
    • Creation of delivery routes & manifests via the On-Demand Routing software
    • Manage the loading of trucks & assist the drivers during the loading process
    • DOT oversight & JJ Keller Driver Log maintenance
    • Perform truck maintenance inspections
    • Ensure delivery of material to customers and/or branch locations
    • Provide excellent customer service
    • Perform annual performance reviews and corrective actions as required
    • Supervise drivers and support staff
    • Multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the day
    • Other responsibilities may be assigned.
    • Review and close manifests daily, ensuring all orders are manifested accordingly.
    • Spot check and audit orders ensuring photos and signatures are taken by drivers upon delivery.
    • Manage and Maintain vehicles, making sure trucks are safe for daily operations
    • Work with service providers and schedule maintenance and repairs without affecting daily operations.
    • Walk the warehouse floor, and note of any large orders, special requirements, for delivery
    • Maintain the re-delivery area
    • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Experience and knowledge of DOT regulations is required.
    • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, preferred.
    • Good and dependable mathematic, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Forklift and pallet jack experience
    • Reliable, responsible, and a great work ethic
    • Microsoft Word and Excel skills preferred
    • Acceptable driving record
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of IES computer systems
    • Must be a team player and abide by IES’s strong core values and beliefs

    Required Experience

    • Associates (A.A.) degree or Bachelors degree, preferred and 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2-5 years of supervisory experience with leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and listening

    OTHER DETAILS:

    • You will supervise 21 Drivers and 1 Routing Coordinator
    • 0-20% of travel is required.
    • A CDL class A or B drivers license is preferred
    • May occasionally lift 50-70 lbs., unassisted
