    SENIOR ASSOCIATE, TRAFFIC CLERK

    The Traffic Clerk is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work in a distribution center according to a defined production schedule. Reviewing distribution of work and shipment schedules, conferring with the managers to determine progress of work and completion dates, works closely with transportation, client representatives, and carrier representatives to achieve and maintain high service levels, and ensures that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and pleasant personality; effective memory skills; good hand eye coordination; dependability, ability to follow directions and a strong willingness to learn.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate transportation activities for several clients
    • Work with the operation team to coordinate a seamless work flow
    • Oversee the shipping and compliance of customer orders
    • Coordinate shipping activity through work load planning
    • Effectively communicate issues within the Traffic Department and with Operations
    • Be able to multi-task between clients and logistics activities
    • Scheduling and waiving of client orders
    • Setting a production schedule for the distribution center that meets specific time goals
    • Coordinate record keeping of inbound and outbound documentation
    • Maintain current plans, procedures, programs and strategies to enhance performance, accuracy levels and interdepartmental perceptions
    • Ensure maximum utilization of manpower and equipment
    • Responsible for overseeing replenishment, DRP, picking, packing, shipping and International shipments
    • Respond to issues via email or phone in a timely manner
    • Maintain safety, housekeeping and maintenance standards
    • Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent, required
    • 2-3 years of experience working within a Traffic/ Distribution Center environment, required
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, required
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
    • Knowledge of AS400 systems
    • Computer literacy with proficiency in all Microsoft programs; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
    • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels both internally and externally
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete in an efficient manner
    • Ability to work well in a team environment and with a diverse group of individuals
    • Must be able to conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
    • Promote fair, safe, trained and engaged work environment
    • Must complete and submit a background screening that will be conducted by the U.S. Government post hire

    WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
    • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
    • Ability to push or pull carts of up to 100 pounds without assistance

    • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and grasp products
    • Must NOT be afraid of heights
    • Must be able to work on a variety of warehouse floors up to 100 feet in height
    • Must be about to work in a warehouse environment with a noise level up to 85dBA
