    The System Director, Clinical Education, and Professional Practice is responsible for oversight and implementation of PIH Health system-wide clinical education and professional development strategy. The Director performs and is accountable for assessment, development, coordination, provision, and evaluation of clinical education utilizing adult learning principles and evidence-based practice. The position executes and/or oversees professional development strategies to enhance the delivery of clinical nursing care and professional growth of clinical staff in alignment with overall system strategic goals. Utilizing system thinking and education strategies, the Director designs and implements programs to inspire, promote and advance professional growth and delivery of patient care. Collaboration with resource leaders to develop specialty pathways and other opportunities for career enhancement and mobility is also vital to this role.

    • Ability to create lesson plans and collateral education materials

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing professional staff, implementing education programs in an acute and non-acute multi-site health system.
    • Current California Registered Nurse license renewable every two (2) years in good standing.
    • Masters of Science in Nursing, with an emphasis in Clinical Education or other closely related fields.
    • Evidence of continuing education and self-development.
    • Knowledge of current nursing practice.

     

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience partnering with a Simulation Lab.
