    Performs registration functions by obtaining complete patient demographics and financial information. Accurately inputs data into the hospital computer system. Interacts with co-workers, patients, family members, physicians, physicians office, and other hospital departments. Provides complete and accurate information in compliance with JCAHO requirements. Secures patient accounts by performing insurance verification and eligibility through appropriate payors and websites insuring proper documentation of patient activities. Applies good verbal and non-verbal skills to achieve service goals of customer satisfaction and positive work environment. Other functions as assigned to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the Emergency Department.

    Required Experience

    • LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment
    • High School graduate or GED required
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association. 
    • CPI within 3 months of employment
    • Minimum 2 years hospital/and or clinic registration or related experience required
