    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen’s Flexible Procurement Solution (FPS) Dispensing & Configuration Specialist is an individual contributor position responsible for installing, configuring, hardware/software maintenance, technical support and conducting training on the FPS solution for new and existing customers.  The Flexible Procurement Solution is an inventory management system that combines advanced technology with industrial vending to drive productivity and reduce cost for businesses.  This is a customer-facing position.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare all FPS software and hardware used for customer site installation. Ensure all data has been imported and cleaned. Ensure accurate vending machines configuration. Test the FPS solution prior to field deployment.  Provides recommendations regarding decisions for customer go-live dates.  
    • Handle the installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade of the solution at a customer’s site.
    • Serve as the point of escalation for customers on dispensing hardware and software issues; troubleshoot and resolves issues; escalate issues to vendor when necessary.
    • Monitor and verify customer connectivity to dispensing software during business hours.
    • Develop training for new installations, upgrades and/or systems changes. Train internal and external customers on the use of the vending hardware, vending software and scanning technologies.
    • Provide and improve process automation for scanning, dispensing replenishments and billings.
    • Maintain dispensing database and associated hardware. Ensure connectivity of hardware and software.
    • Provide On-site Implementation expertise and leadership for new Solution Customers
    • Troubleshoot solution to ensure Customer and Vallen expectations are met up to and including onsite break-fix resolution and training.
    • Ensure that required data is accurate and properly maintained in all applicable solution systems.
    • Execution of Adds, Edits and Changes within the full scope of software and hardware utilized within FPS.
    • Inspect Vallen leased and owned vending equipment to determine if they can be redeployed to a new customer.
    • Complete vending hardware refurbishments, ensure quality and all process checks are completed prior to redeployment.
    • Test dispensing software upgrades prior to deployment and assist in upgrade process
    • Collaborate with the VMI team to ensure that VMI and Vending areas are set up in accordance with new customer expectations and Vallen standards
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry technology, standards and trends and best practices.
    • Collaborate with Field VMI on scanning and labeling technologies. Work with IT on enhancements, testing and rolling out for field use.
    • May conduct and facilitate meetings with customers regarding solution optimization, enhancements and/or upgrades
    • Utilize forms and reports used to monitor dispensing account performance
    • Travel to customer sites to perform installations and/or on-going maintenance of the FPS solution.
    • Develop methods to minimize errors while maintaining or improving productivity
    • Provide 24/7 tech support for the FPS solution on a rotational basis.
    • Perform other assigned duties.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Relevant work experience should include:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Project management experience
    • Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills
    • Excellent PC Skills including, but not limited to; MS Word, MS Outlook, Visio
    • Demonstrated advanced level skills in Excel
    • Ability to work independently within defined processes and procedures
    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Works well under pressure and stressful situations that occur during technical support and installations
    • Product and/or industry knowledge is preferred (e.g. Inventory Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Vending)
