Job Overview: As the Lead Line Cook, you will oversee kitchen operations, supervise a team of cooks, and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency. You’ll be a vital part of the team, working directly with the chef to maintain the smooth running of the kitchen and assist in training and mentoring staff, and being an example for the rest of the team.
Responsibilities:
Assist with leading the kitchen team during service, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with the chef’s recipes and standards. Ensure each station is ready for nightly dinner service.
Maintain consistency and quality of all dishes throughout service while maintaining appropriate ticket times.
Assist in training and mentoring all line cooks.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen, following all safety and health regulations.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and front-of-house manager to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Work with the chef to handle any special requests, dietary restrictions, or substitutions as needed.
Communicate effectively with the Chef to maintain workflow and address any concerns.
And any other responsibilities that may arise.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Proven experience as a line cook with leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, techniques, and food safety standard
Ability to work well under pressure and multitask during peak hours.
A passion for food and attention to detail in preparation and presentation.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work well in a team and manage others effectively.
A willingness to continue to grow professionally.
