    ABOUT THE ROLE: 

    As a security analyst intern at Pondurance you will work side by side (well, virtually these days) with other  analysts to monitor, evaluate and report on clients’ network traffic in an effort to mitigate their risk of attack, as well as immediately contain threats that do penetrate their defenses. 

    We will provide you with a brief, structured training period, so you will have all of the tools, knowledge and skills required to operate as a security analyst. During your 10-week internship you will be exposed to various roles in order to provide you with additional experiences and learning opportunities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor and analyze large amounts of network traffic looking for attacker presence
    • Triage alerts and incidents for client networks
    • Triage emails for potential phishing threats
    • Identify threat vulnerabilities
    • Document and escalate incidents
    • Use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity
    • Assist in building weekly threat reports to clients

    TECHNOLOGIES: 

    • Experience with open source log or SIEM solutions 
    • Experience with Windows OS
    • Knowledge of information security network devices, and monitoring tools
    • Experience  with query language 
    • Familiar  with ticketing systems

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

    • Strong technical and analytical skills
    • Ideal candidate will hold a degree, or is pursuing a degree, in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline and/or will possess equivalent experience
    • Highly organized, able to multitask
    • Must be capable of working individually, within a team, and with other groups
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
