Job Description

• Dimensionally check parts for start-ups, fixes, alterations, and conformity to blueprint specifications, and revisions.
• Perform periodic visual inspection of die cast/trimmed parts.
• Computes unobtainable dimensional information.
• Inspects and calibrates gages, fixtures, tooling as required and conducts GR&R studies before being used in manufacturing, inspection and die repair.
• Reads blueprints accurately with reasonable speed.
• Inspects segments, cores, and other die parts, when needed.
• Evaluates dimensional results for sample activities (i.e. new tooling, engineering changes and customer concerns/complaints).
• Works with Engineering and Tool Room to insure parts conform to specifications.
• Ability to explain the defects present in the die to Die Repair personnel after inspection of the casting.
• Generates and organizes PPAP documentation for submittal and maintains files and records.
