    PPS is seeking a well-organized and motivated Mechanical Project Engineer for our state-of-the-art industrial machinery manufacturing facility in Phoenix. The Mechanical Project Engineer will work closely with operations, quality, and current engineering staff to increase product quality, improve flow on the production floor, and develop exciting new products. This is a Direct Hire, full-time, permanent position with an excellent compensation package and a high ceiling for growth.

    Responsibilities:  

    • Create designs that satisfy customer expectations and all applicable design standards while meeting material budget constraints.
    • Perform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to designs.
    • Develop and prepare engineering (SOLIDWORKS) models, assemblies and detail drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.
    • Apply necessary GD&T per ASME Y14.5, to created drawings.
    • Respond quickly to the shop floor’s needs to address issues that may surface during production regarding the manufacturing specifications or Bill of Material.
    • Support products via direct communication with Sales, Manufacturing & Customer on production documentation issues
    • Assist in streamlining manufacturing processes to be more efficient.
    • Develop processes and systems necessary to produce a given product at scale.
    • Support testing of existing and potential new products.
    • Ensure assigned projects stay within the allocated budget and timeframe.
    • Be a continuous positive force within our facility, creating strong morale and spirit.
    • Collaborate with leadership, and peers to drive meaningful results.
    • Support our culture that embodies our vision and values.
    • Occasional travel to our Nogales, Sonora facility may be required for some projects.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
    • Proficient user of SOLIDWORKS.
    • General understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 practices.
    • Fabricating and sheet metal experience is a plus.
    • Machine design experience of integrated systems desirable.
    • Experience in Microsoft Suite of software to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Must be able available to occasional travel.
