    CONTEXT: Small, privately-owned manufacturing company

    Our client is seeking a CNC Machinist Supervisor & Programmer for their Odessa, TX operations. The right candidate must be a self-motivated, experienced individual with a strong programming and supervisory background who enjoys teamwork and a fast-paced production environment. Must be efficient and familiar with leading a deadline-driven production team.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Set up, program and operate CNC machine
    • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece
    • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining
    • Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
    • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve input, or edit computerized machine control media
    • Set up and operate the machine on trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have in-depth knowledge and experience operating and programming CNC machine in oil & gas manufacturing environment
    • FANUC Control experience required
    • Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, Syteline and/or other databases, preferred
    • Lean/Six Sigma Certifications preferred
    • Confident & experienced supervisor, coach, and trainer
    • Safety conscious
    • Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse team
    • Mathematical skills to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding and reasoning skills to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
    • Ability to work in a physical capacity
    • Willingness to work weekdays, some weekends, and long hours
    • High school diploma or equivalent
