    Our client, a diversified chemicals company, is actively seeking a Vice President – Corporate Strategy & Business Development. This individual will be a member of the Executive Team responsible for the creation and deployment of strategic growth opportunities. The position is responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing strategic plans that enhance the organization’s ability to pursue new markets, new capabilities and implement new solutions. This includes overseeing business verticals that assist in determining the best avenues to enhance services; focusing on initiatives that improve profitability and marketability; and directing an assortment of activities in support of acquisitions, strategic alliances and re-engineering of projects.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the development of the company’s strategic plan, which includes translating it for people across the organization and driving organizational change.
    • Identify and build new market opportunities that drive different lines of business revenue, monetization and growth.
    • Drive the Company’s strategic vision based on sound analysis and judgment.
    • Develop broad-ranging analysis and presentations to succinctly summarize/analyze key initiatives for existing business and efforts of expansion to new sectors/ventures of interest.
    • Develop and maintain a view of market dynamics across all segments.
    • Assess whether strategic initiatives, at all levels of the organization, are in line with the organization’s standards and objectives.
    • Lead acquisition strategy and strategic partnerships; identify acquisition candidates and lead business case development, as well as due diligence and operational assessments to assure successful implementation.
    • Accelerate the company performance through cohesive strategy planning and execution. Lead the development, communication, and execution of the strategic plan for all business segments and other strategic initiatives.
    • Support business units as a credible trusted advisor and serve as an internal consulting resource with the executive leadership team.
    • Direct involvement with research and development programs to initiate, develop and advance products into the pipeline.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS/BA in Business or related degree required; MBA preferred.
    • In depth knowledge and experience within Chemicals: formulations, product development, research and development, sales and operations.
    • Proven success in the deployment of corporate strategy.
    • Exposure to managing P&L.
    • Excellent negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills at the highest level.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience and successful track record in evaluating and executing on commercial opportunities.
    • Extensive experience in managing partnerships through execution, with strong project management and interpersonal capabilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and lead cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a fast-paced work environment.
