    LOCATION: Mentone, TX

    CONTEXT: Our client, a fast growing, privately held, premier provider of water solutions is seeking a Water Well Technician.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform well & pump service lead in troubleshooting, repairing, selling, and installing water pumping systems and wells.
    • Rehabilitate water wells to improve specific capacities; pull pump settings from water wells
    • Teardown, inspect and troubleshoot pumps and component parts
    • Repair pumps and re-assemble and reinstall pump settings in water supply wells
    • Install elevated platforms and troubleshoot pumps and controls
    • Perform pump repairs and installation; towing equipment and trailers
    • Perform water well system maintenance along with trenching and line installation
    • Operate pumps to job specifications, monitoring pressures, fluid levels, and temperatures and opening/closing valves providing a path for the water to flow
    • Operate equipment, trailers, pickup trucks and delivery trucks as required, including watching pump for leaks, jacking or unusual events; operate filter pod, ensuring the radio is properly charged and ready to be used; maintain straps on, above grounds pools and Frac tanks
    • Ensure pumps are adequately fueled and work area is clean; ensure equipment is properly shut down; assist with general maintenance and upkeep of equipment as directed; use hand, power tools, and equipment following specifications; and operate and drive unit to and from work sites
    • Be an active participant in pre-shift safety meetings, including completion of any required paperwork
    • Perform repairs and maintenance to equipment as necessary. Ensure safe work procedures and good housekeeping practices are followed. Report deficiencies to Shift Lead
    • Receive and follow directives from Shift Lead on work assignments, materials, and equipment needs; communicate with hydration unit for rate changes; stay alert for changes in operational instructions from the operator, and tend to the controller as directed by Shift Lead
    • Complete and submit all paperwork to Shift Lead daily, including DOT logs
    • Communicate effectively utilizing email, text, phone, handheld radio, and interpersonal communication
    • Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle, ensure adequate room for transporting up to four (4) employees to and from the worksite

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating water wells
    • Experience with pumps is a MUST!
    • Experience with SCADA/Automation is highly preferred
    • Electrical knowledge/background is highly preferred
    • Must be self-motivated and highly capable of operating independently as well as in part of a team
    • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments and to work independently and objectively
    • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment
    • Ability to operate and maintain a large number of water wells
    • Proficient with the use of hand and power tools and equipment
    • Must be comfortable working outdoors, in inclement weather and around heavy equipment
    • Must show the ability to exercise good safety habits and make safety-conscious decisions
