    CONTEXT: Small, privately-owned manufacturing company

    Our client, an Oil & Gas manufacturing company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Odessa, TX. The Mechanical Design Engineer will oversee modifying, enhancing, and create established standard designs and parts for our products. This individual must have experience designing fluid ends, power ends, pumps, valves, and seats.

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Provide engineering support on mechanical equipment.
    • Conceptualize mechanical design solutions.
    • Perform and/or supervise the creation of design layouts.
    • Perform and/or supervise the creation of detail drawings.
    • Perform tolerance studies and check design documentation.
    • Research and specify purchased component parts.
    • Create component and system level test plans and test fixtures.
    • Create engineering reports documenting design efforts and results.
    • Work with operations to identify product improvements.

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • B.S. Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Able to apply product knowledge and technical skills to solve simple application problems independently with minimum supervision.
    • Must have experience with CAD/AutoCAD; SolidWorks; Unigraphics; SolidWorks; Ansys; SEA.
    • Accurate and thorough; ability to look for ways to improve and promote quality; provide feedback to improve performance; monitor and ensure work meets company standards.
    • Ability to meet productivity standards; complete work in a timely manner; strive to increase productivity while keeping high-quality standards.
    • Ability to observe safety and environmental procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions and use PPE and tools properly.
    • Ability to adapt to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
    • Must be punctual based on work schedule.
    • Must be able to follow instructions and respond to management directives; take responsibility for actions; and keep commitments.
    • Willingness to work weekdays, some weekends, and long hours.
    • Must pass drug and alcohol test.
    • Must pass background record check.
