    Overview:  As the Accounting Manager you will play a pivotal role in managing all accounting and financial activities for our client's rapidly expanding catering business. You will lead a team of three accounting professionals and collaborate closely with the company's CPA firm. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing financial operations, developing and implementing processes and procedures, and preparing the company for its imminent doubling in size.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1\. Financial Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance indicators to support strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations for management review.

    2\. Team Leadership:

    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to the accounting team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
    • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure timely completion of accounting activities.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

    3\. Process Improvement:

    • Assess existing accounting processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
    • Develop and implement robust financial controls and standardized workflows to support scalability and growth.
    • Streamline reporting mechanisms and automate repetitive tasks where possible to optimize resource utilization.

    4\. Communication and Collaboration:

    • Serve as the primary liaison with the external CPA firm, coordinating audits, tax filings, and other financial matters.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Operations, Sales, and Procurement to ensure alignment of financial objectives and strategies.
    • Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and insights to senior management, providing recommendations for course corrections as needed.

    5\. Growth Preparation:

    • Proactively anticipate the financial implications of the company's expansion plans, developing strategic financial forecasts and projections.
    • Work closely with the executive team to identify funding requirements, investment opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Implement scalable accounting systems and processes to accommodate the company's doubling in size, ensuring readiness for rapid growth and expansion.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
    • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or financial management roles, preferably within the hospitality or catering industry.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments.
    • Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
