LOCATION: Austin, TX

INDUSTRY: Data Communications

CONTEXT: Immediate need for Entry Level Data Technicians to help meet the demand of newly awarded projects in the Austin area. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist crew members in placing, labeling, and identifying Cat3, 5, 5e, and 6 voice/data twisted pair cable.
• Help build pathways for cable (cable tray, ladder rack, J-hooks, etc).
• Dress cables neatly and in line with applicable standards.
• Work with crew to build out data closets (2-Post Racks, Ladder Racks, Setting Cabinets).
• Terminate and install standard industry copper connectors (4-Pair cable terminations, Multi-Pair cable terminations, coaxial terminations, basic alert cabling terminations).
• Terminate/label work station outlets.
• Test voice/data cable and learn to troubleshoot.
• Set up and use industry standard test equipment.
• Maintain safe working habits.

REQUIREMENTS:

• NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
• Ability to work flexible times, such as nights or weekends, if needed.
• Ability and willingness to work in a construction environment under varying weather conditions.
