    Industry: Upstream Oilfield Services, Water, Chemicals

    Context: Our client, a full-service water treatment company, is actively searching for a Technical Director of Water Treatment to oversee and manage various water treatment projects. The ideal person will have multi-industry project design experience, assist sales, develop project metrics, and ensure projects are going according to plan.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate with sales team and management to define design project objectives, phases, tasks and resources
    • Develop and manage schedules and assignments for timely completion of engineering projects
    • Develop and manage engineering project budgets
    • Design pipe and pump systems related to water / wastewater treatment/ recycling and Sludge dewatering
    • Prepare PFD and P&ID drawings
    • Size, select and specify pumps, flowmeters, pressure sensors and control valves suitable for rugged oilfield environment
    • Oversee construction and fabrication drawings & documentation to ensure compliance with appropriate standards and performance objectives
    • Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids
    • Make site visits to various oilfield locations and work with field operators and technicians to develop, refine and retrofit equipment and systems
    • Provide guidance during installation and startup of new systems
    • Design and implement tests to confirm equipment and system performance
    • Assist with design and implementation of R&D projects, pilot studies and related testing
    • Prepare project status reports and final reports with analysis and recommendations
    • Ensure that equipment and systems adhere to appropriate safety and regulatory standards

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering degree
    • 6 + years engineering experience in or with wastewater processes, refineries, chemical plants or other Oil & Gas process environments
    • Must have good communication skills and be able to work well with both field personnel and management
    • Capable of growing to a bigger position within the company
    • Must be able to multi-task and respond to rapid changes in market direction
    • Proficient computer skills including Excel and basic navigation in AutoCAD, Solid Works, or Inventor
    • Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Familiarity with industrial control systems and power distribution
    • Familiarity with process analytics associated with wastewater and water treatment
