INDUSTRY: Commercial Construction

LOCATION: Odessa, TX

CONTEXT: Our client, a commercial and residential construction company, is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversees the operations of multiple construction sites, from planning to completion. The duties of a construction superintendent will vary, however, they can expect to be responsible for daily scheduling, supervising all activities and tasks, and leading and managing the on-site construction teams. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for orderliness on site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards, and ensuring availability of equipment and materials on site at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the on-site construction subcontractors.
• Coordinate and oversee all work on site.
• Attend production meetings.
• Maintain a daily job site log.
• Review and become familiar with the schedule and ensure project is in adherence.
• Responsible for the safety of employees under their supervision.
• Responsible for the employees and equipment in their assigned area.
• Responsible for adherence to and enforcement of safety policies of company and client.
• Transport supplies and materials.
• Report problems to Project Manager.
• Ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow the project timeline to ensure deadlines are met.
• Monitor and ensure on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness.
• Maintain records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders, and RFIs.
• Liaise with inspection authorities regarding approvals.
• Fulfill all regular and advanced installation/construction duties, including project layout, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
