LOCATION: open to Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA
CONTEXT: Our client, a global petrochemical company, is actively seeking an experienced Polymer Sales Manager to increase sales, develop new accounts and maintain/expand existing business relationships in the automotive and packaging industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build long-term relationships with a large customer base by understanding their key business drivers, executing system assurance programs, and selling new services.
- Maintain current established relationships, strategically identify new potential clientele, and create a plan to pursue such partnership opportunities.
- Maintain business development involvement and visibility through the duration of all projects to foster relationships with clients and project teams.
- Develop strategic growth plans, strategic client initiatives, and tactical action items needed to increase sales from new and existing clients.
- Lead all aspects of new client outreach activity including client identification and qualifying, prospect introductions, conferences, presentations, and engagement with professional organizations.
- Implement strategies, annual plans, goals, and budgets for participation in professional organizations.
- Provide accurate and timely entry of prospect and sales data in customer management software.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
- 5 to 15 years sales experience in automotive/packaging markets
- Availability to travel at least 75% of the time
- Prior sales experience offering a range of polymers and solutions expertise for the automotive and packaging industries
- Strong consultative selling and customer management skills required; experience working with senior management, the ability to develop strong relationships and cohesive work environment with senior executives.
- Ability to open doors with clients, strong writing and presenting skills, ability to win projects that are profitable, the ability to assess risk and develop mitigation strategies.
- Creative problem-solving ability, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
