    LOCATION: Olathe, KS

    CONTEXT: Our client, a facilities management company, is seeking a Project Manager to direct and manage construction projects for the Medical Center in Olathe, KS. This is a full-time, salaried position with a solid company that has 20+ years in the industry.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operate as the main point of contact with the client to develop and maintain a positive relationship and understand goals and expectations.
    • Communicate with clients, design teams, construction contractors, agencies, and other project stakeholders to achieve project success for all.
    • Manage all phases of the project and maintain a detailed project plan, which will include all required activities, tasks, risks, issues and resource requirements, leading to a successful and timely implementation.
    • Create and manage project budgets.
    • Track progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. Reports status and variances regularly.
    • Implement change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. Assess change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.
    • Identify complex project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS Degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or closely related professional field from an accredited program.
    • 5+ years of healthcare construction project management experience, with a demonstrated history of success in leading a team and managing multiple projects.
    • Up to date knowledge of Joint Commission, Administrative Code, applicable NFPA Codes, and Kansas Building Codes as applied to ongoing planning, alteration, and renovation projects and the ability to successfully work with governmental agencies.
    • Working knowledge of construction trade practices and safety requirements sufficient to manage all phases of project planning, construction and renovation.
    • Knowledge of acute inpatient, outpatient and clinic healthcare patient design and construction requirements.
    • Skill in managing all administrative and technical aspects of construction and alteration projects in a medical healthcare environment.
    • Demonstrated skill in using a PC with related software including MS Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera (P6), Sage Timberline etc.
    • Ability to exercise sound time-management skills, control projects and work proactively to mitigate complications that may jeopardize project productivity.
    • Skill in long and short term planning. Analytical ability to problem solve with permanent and temporary solutions under adversity, including times of crises.
