Context: Our client, a global chemical company, is seeking a Production & Maintenance Engineer to oversee plant operations as well as 3rd party operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe, reliable, and efficient production of quality specialty copolymers.
- Can act as owner representative in front of the 3rd party company who is operating and maintaining the plant.
- Actively work to maximize plant margin including setting up metrics and management systems.
- Monitor plant performance on daily basis.
- Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies. Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions in cooperation with 3rd party.
- Participate in the preparation, execution, commissioning, start-up and closure of planned turnarounds and downtime from owner perspective.
- Troubleshoot plant issues in normal operations, start-up, shutdowns, and planned turnarounds.
- Diagnose and document root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
- Maintain, own, and review short, medium, and long term KPIs/ trends to ensure optimum performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree within Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (highly preferred).
- 5 years’ experience in operations, maintenance and/or reliability in Polyethylene or Plastic plants, and more specifically in Low Density Polymers or Co-Polymers with High Pressure Technology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coach and/or support 3rd party operations personnel, team members for safety, quality, maintenance reliability, supply chain (production planning), engineering & improvement and Technology center.
- Ability to Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions in cooperation with 3rd party.
