    CONTEXT: Our client, an oil and gas services company, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in Midland, TX. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for building relationships with oil and gas operators and midstream clients in order to provide pipeline construction, water transfer, and water management solutions.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, networking, and announcements to determine the market needed to sell company products.
    • Analyze market opportunities in new exploration plays including competitor analysis.
    • Develop a strong pipeline of new customers through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
    • Bring opportunities to a successful conclusion by coordinating the requirements, developing proposals, and negotiating the contract as necessary.
    • Create and deliver compelling, customer-centric presentations and demonstrations by connecting features to customer business capabilities and drivers.
    • Research the industry and competition to ensure the company is capitalizing on all potential market opportunities.
    • Demonstrate outstanding customer service to build/maintain relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Identify all challenges of the customer to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process.
    • Function as a liaison between customers, operations, and other departments.
    • Maintain business development involvement and visibility through the duration of all projects to foster relationships with clients and project teams.
    • Oversee the formation of business partnerships and negotiation of contracts.
    • Develop prospecting and lead generation strategy for new customers.
    • Run project economics and send out proposals offering solutions to customer needs.
    • Provide input for new product offerings and services.
    • Track and maintain the division’s commercial metrics for weekly reports.

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5+ years of related industry experience in sales or business development of pipeline construction, water transfer, and water management solutions.
    • Strong sales relationships with oil and gas producers and midstream companies
    • Ability to open doors with clients, strong writing and presenting skills, ability to win projects that are profitable.
    • Creative problem-solving ability, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
    • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
    • Strong sense of ethics reflecting core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, respect, and responsibility.
