    Manager of People & Culture

    Full Time/Direct-Hire

    Would need to be in the bay area and have transportation as the client will be moving to three sites across Alameda, Emeryville, and Berkeley over the next six months.

    As Manager of People and Culture, your primary objectives will be to ensure that each staff member has the opportunity to thrive in our organization and recruiting new talent to join the team. As an ambassador for the client's culture, you’ll work closely with a variety of people across all departments and be the 'go-to' person for building a great place to work. Reporting directly to our COO, this is a growth opportunity in a fast moving company making a big impact on our food ecosystem.

    Duties include:

    • Manage recruiting process for new hires from end to end, including managing talent acquisition, recruiting, and onboarding
    • Ensure our hiring process is inclusive, diverse, and equitable
    • Lead staff appreciation initiatives
    • Lead staff advancement initiatives
    • Lead employee development and engagement initiatives
    • Manage employee evaluation program, providing influence on design to management
    • Maintain provided perks, snacks, and benefits for the team
    • Oversee benefits administration, annual open enrollment, HR compliance, and other miscellaneous HR processes
    • Manage internal corporate training initiatives (e.g., learning new software, implementing new procedures, ensuring compliance with internal protocols as necessary)
    • Seek feedback from staff on company issues and report findings to senior team
    • Coordinate Leave of Absence requests and immigration services
    • Ensure appropriate internal corporate communications surrounding staff-related issues

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • At least 3–5 years working in a position involving human resources, with demonstrated growth and progression
    • Bachelor’s degree or above with a focus on Human Resources, Management and/or Communications. Advanced degree a plus.
    • Experience working in a fast paced startup environment
    • Proficiency in our HR stack (TriNet & Greenhouse) or equivalent
    • Merged skill set of IQ and EQ
    • Technology literacy in foodtech
    • Previous working experience with remote and onsite employees preferred.
