The Observability & Monitoring team is building our massive-scale cloud-native service that ingests massive amounts of distributed tracing and logs coming from our Cloud services. The team goal is to make troubleshooting of production incidents a thing of the past, by enabling other teams to quickly diagnose and fix resiliency, quality, and performance issues of their cloud services and components.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Product Engineering teams to turn internal and product requirements into well-designed, sustainable infrastructure and internal system solutions that enable efficient software production;
- Develop tools and infrastructure to deploy, monitor, and manage production services and products used by all of Product Engineering. Ensure delivered solutions are optimized for ease-of-use, reusability, and scalability;
- Stay up-to-date on relevant technologies relevant to the role and understand trends and opportunities to ensure we continue to use the best possible techniques and tools to create software;
- Ensure implementations and development activities always lead towards enriching knowledge base documentation, including capturing design details, usage, maintenance, configuration, and deployment notes;
- Work with cross-functional development teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and demonstrated expertise with designing and building highly scalable infrastructure solutions for centralized logging, metrics, and distributed tracing, that can handle data from thousands of customers, and millions of apps and devices;
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and troubleshooting complex business applications composed of multiple cloud-native services;
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with modern infrastructure practices, like Infrastructure as Code, immutable infrastructure, etc;
- Hands-on knowledge and experience creating and operating monitoring and observability stacks by combining cloud services and SaaS like ElasticSearch, LogStash, Kibana, DataDog, Splunk, DynaTrace, Grafana, etc.
- General knowledge and experience in code-based configuration, load-balancing, auto-scaling, monitoring, networking and problem-solving in a cloud environment, preferably AWS;
- Technical leadership and knowledge to provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations. Be a hands-on teacher and advocate to ensure successful adoption of new tools, processes, and best practices;
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. If you do not have one but you are really good (and can show it), we still want to hear from you;
- Good communication skills (Fluency in English).
