Position Overview
We are seeking experienced childcare professionals to join our PRN (as-needed) Childcare Floater Pool. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in their skills, adaptable, and comfortable providing support across classrooms, transportation, and daily operations on an on-call basis.
This position is not entry-level and is best suited for mature, dependable professionals who value flexibility and autonomy over a fixed schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Classroom Support
- Provide classroom coverage across age groups as assigned
- Maintain active supervision and child safety at all times
- Support daily routines, transitions, and classroom expectations
- Follow center policies, procedures, and licensing standards
Transportation Support
- Drive the center bus or vehicle as needed
- Safely load and unload children and follow transportation procedures
- Complete required safety checks and documentation
Operational Support
- Assist with ratio coverage during staff absences
- Support kitchen or meal service operations as needed
- Communicate clearly with center leadership regarding availability and assignments
Schedule & Availability
- PRN / on-call position with no guaranteed hours
- Shifts offered based on operational needs
- May include early mornings, late afternoons, or short-notice coverage
- Acceptance of shifts is voluntary; reliability impacts future scheduling priority
Compensation
- Training period paid at a designated training rate ($12.00hr)
- PRN hourly rate applies after successful training and activation (DOE $16hr-$18hr)
- PRN pay reflects flexibility, on-call availability, and lack of guaranteed hours
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a licensed childcare, early education, or related setting
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background checks and meet licensing requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across multiple age groups
- Previous floater, substitute, or on-call experience
- Comfort stepping into different roles as needed
- Experience with childcare transportation/bus driving
