Job Description
The Human Resources Assistant will provide a variety of administrative duties and support to the Human Resources Department. This is a part-time position requiring 20-24 hours per week. This role will assist with the day-to-day operations of the department and help facilitate various HR functions including responsibilities pertaining to areas of personnel administration and daily operations including but not limited to onboarding, maintenance of personnel records, employee leaves of absence, and all other work which is relevant to the position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the HR Department including filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.
- Assists in maintaining personnel records and information, performs data entry, and prepares reports and documents.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires by preparing necessary documentation, conducting orientations, and follow-up meetings.
- Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Prepare, process, and quality check HR documents (letters, forms, employment-related paperwork).
- Organize employee engagement events, recognition programs, and wellness programs.
- Assist with recruitment when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and compliance with regulatory changes, and employment law.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
