  • Responsibilities

    Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Under regular supervision of the Director of Radiology or supervisor in her absence manages routine and secretarial functions. Cordial reception of patients (In-pts, Ops, visitors, physicians, phone calls). Input/printing/posting/of patient orders in RIS (ie. Meditech/Cerner). Ensures correct procedure is ordered/entered into RIS by checking physician order for exam ordered, calls and/or asks for order clarification as needed. Responsible if deemed necessary for obtaining new order from physician and getting a copy to registration staff prior to procedure/examination being performed. Responsible for answering Radiology phone(s) and assisting caller by helping them with information requested or transferring them correctly to the appropriate person that can help while avoiding multiple transfers. Printing and checking daily/weekly outpatient schedules for accuracy. Makes sure any orders or lab values needed prior to testing are obtained. Maintains and appropriately scans/files medical record requests. Prints/exports images and reports from Pacs cube/RIS for requesting physician or patient and packages them appropriately for mailing or distribution making every effort to maintain HIPPA. Able to problem solve with regard to equipment, supplies, and resources within established network as well as outside resources. (ie. call internal IT or help desk with technical/equipment issues, etc). Able to multi task and maneuver through several computer programs at once to ensure smooth patient flow. Must be able to seek and identify problems that are interfering with patient care delivery and implement appropriate solutions within scope of practice. Responsible for periodically monitoring patient waiting to ensure that all patients have been checked in or assisted. Must work effectively with other staff, students, physicians, nurses, families, and administration. Must have the ability to maintain confidential information. Must complete annual training in greenlight as assigned.

    SCHEDULE: PRN.

    QUALIFICATIONS /TRAINING:

    • 1 Year of secretarial/clerical experience.
    • Skilled in the use of computers, business software, and printers.
    • Previous experience in hospital or medical setting desired.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS/EDUCATION:

    • High School diploma or GED from an accredited school.
