SOCIAL WORKER, LBSW - PATIENT & FAMILY SERVICES
The Social Worker, LBSW maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Works closely with scheduling staff to ensure completion of pre-work for therapy insurance authorizations prior to the patient evaluation, as well as ongoing monitoring of authorizations with time and financial limitations. Manages and maintains all insurance authorization updates on recurrent episodes of care, including commercial insurances and monthly Medicaid updates/changes for the pediatric population. Manages the Medicare Medical Necessity report as it relates to the need for continued skilled therapy services. Assists therapists with referrals for community based resources, as needed. Provides case management as needed for interdisciplinary/specialty programs. Assists with front office duties, as needed, due to staffing shortages and/or changes. Provides an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion and respect for all patients, families, and visitors. Consistently handles customer complaints promptly and effectively when problems encountered. Utilizes proper escalation procedures when appropriate. Attends departmental in services and staff meetings. Performs all other duties as assigned.
SCHEDULE: Full Time. 80 Hours Biweekly. Monday - Friday with weekend rotation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school. Licensed Bachelors prepared Social Worker within the associated region of responsibility. Case Management Certification preferred.
