JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse, assist in meeting the patients’ needs for treatment to include taking vitals, cleaning wounds, application of pressure dressing, assisting with surgical procedures such as suturing or other duties as required by the physician or nurse. Assist nurses in obtaining data for assessment as well as assisting the nurse to provide care. Supports the smooth operation of the department by performing tasks associated with general unit organization and orderliness. Assist in maintaining emergency department supplies. Assists with transportation of patients in and out of the ED, transportation to Radiology and in case of admission transport to patient’s room. Performs other clinical and clerical duties as requested.

SCHEDULE: PRN.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with evidence of SC State Nursing Certification (CNA) or State
• Certified EMT or completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (and actively enrolled in nursing school) or phlebotomy certification.
• Arrhythmia course within 6 month of hire.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• BLS Certification
• Phlebotomy or C.N.A. certification or State of SC EMT Certification
