Will perform diagnostic testing on laboratory samples in an accurate and timely manner. Will assume supervisor duties for special chemistry and microbiology.
Shift is three 12-hour days and every other weekend.

3. Schedules personnel to provide adequate coverage to perform all assigned duties.
4. Handles personnel-related functions (e.g. selection, promotion, discipline) according to Laboratory and
MRMC policies.
5. Ensures that all tests and procedures are performed in accordance with all hospital, state, federal and
agency standards and that results are valid and accurate prior to release.
6. Establishes and maintains an effective preventive maintenance program for all instruments and equipment in
area of responsibility.
7. Prepare periodic and special analysis and reports required for management, pathologists and/or outside
agencies.
8. Maintains appropriate levels of supplies and initiates purchase requisitions.
9. Responsible for instruction of students assigned to area.
10. Prepares annually, FTE, supplies, and capital equipment budget worksheets as requested by Laboratory
Director.
11. Assess laboratory's readiness for inspection by CAP, SC DHEC, and any applicable regulatory agency.
12. Communicates clearly with other medical center personnel to coordinate needs of employees assigned to
section, laboratory, the medical center, patients and all other customers.
13. Meets with staff on a regular basis.
14. Assist in lab whenever needed.

Required Skills
Must have an associate's degree from an accredited college with a major in Medical Laboratory Science or bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. Must be certified with the ASCP or AMT. Previous experience required. Microbiology experience is preferred.
