The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to address the holistic needs of patients and their significant others, during hospitalization, and preparation for discharge. Reporting to the Unit Director, the Registered Nurse may supervise the work of other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and assist personnel in efforts to deliver care for a prescribed shift of time. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of care directly rendered and that he/she delegates to others.
Baby-Friendly is a global initiative, launched by WHO and UNICEF in 1991, to remove commercial influence from birth facilities and optimize mother-baby bonding and support through the implementation of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. In service of informed decisions, Baby-Friendly practices are designed to help families understand their options and achieve their infant feeding goals, regardless of their selected feeding method. Achieving Baby-Friendly Designation from an independent, third-party certification body confirms that we provide evidenced-based, best practice care and brands our facility as top quality.
McLeod Regional Medical Center is proud to have achieved this designation in June 2019. There are now 15 Baby-Friendly Designated Hospital in South Carolina, including McLeod Health Dillon.
