JOB SUMMARY:

The Certified Surgical Technologist maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Demonstrates responsibility and dependability in the support of clinical coordination and clinical communications during agency business hours. Works closely with the surgeon to assist with patient care in the Operating Room. Responsible for having sterile instruments, sutures, and equipment necessary for the surgical procedure, along with a working knowledge of each device. Cleans, prepares, assembles, and stores equipment in the Operating Room. Maintains the sterile field to ensure patient/employee safety. Assists with positioning and prepping according to the standards of practice and policies and procedures of the department and the hospital. Cleans, prepares, assembles, and stores instruments in the Decontamination and Central Processing Area. Maintains appropriate documentation regarding sterilization equipment and processes. Develops cooperative and supportive relationships within the unit and other units to ensure that inter-professional goals and objectives are met. Performs all other duties as assigned. 

WORK SCHEDULE- 72 hours biweekly; Hours as scheduled.  Must be able to come in at 6:00am.  No call, no weekends and no holidays. May float to the Operating Room when needed.

HOURS OF OPERATION: 6:00am - 5:00pm

SKILLS REQUIRED- Minimum Education: Two year degree in surgical technology. Certification: Certified as a CST in SC.  Work Experience: Zero to less than 1 year of related work experience.  THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH ORTHOPEDICS (SHOULDER, KNEE CASES.) AND CENTRAL PROCESSING.
