The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to address the holistic needs of patients and their significant others, during hospitalization, and preparation for discharge. Reporting to the Unit Director, the Registered Nurse may supervise the work of other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and assist personnel in efforts to deliver care for a prescribed shift of time. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of care directly rendered and that he/she delegates to others.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Hemodialysis Unit has 21 stations where patient care is delivered. Hemodialysis is provided for the hospitalized inpatient with acute and chronic renal failure. In the event of acute poisoning, hemodialysis is also provided on an emergency basis. The level of care in the Hemodialysis Unit is aimed at safe and effective hemodialysis therapy; thereby improving renal status of the renal failure patient and the intensive care population due to drug overdose, poisoning, or other critical medical conditions which result in treatment of renal failure.
SKILLS REQUIRED At least a two-year associate's degree from an accredited school in nursing.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Dialysis or ICU experience preferred
