1. Performs the Major Duties in order to ensure and maintain the safety, of all Patients, Staff, and Visitors. Responsible to provide surveillance and protection from harm for the Medical Facility personnel, staff, visitors and property.
2. Responsible to report safety hazard and conditions that exist on the property.
3. Performs the duties of a Security Officer under the laws and regulations, which are required, and collaborates with local Law Enforcement and Emergency Management Agencies.
4. Has knowledge of the equipment used in the Security Department.
5. Responsible to provide traffic control, make rounds and investigate crimes.
6. Responsible to escort employees, patients, and visitors in an out of the Medical Facility.
7. Responsible to assist all staff, patients and visitors with directions, vehicle assistance and wheelchair assistance in a friendly, positive manner.
8. Responsible to provide Security assistance in all areas of the facility.
9. May be assigned to work at other McLeod Health campuses. May fill in as Courier and/or Mail Clerk.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING:

• Must be able to qualify and receive certifications/registration from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) by completion of training (approximately 4 to 6 weeks from hire).
• Must pass the McLeod Health Psychological Evaluation.
• Must qualify with assigned firearm and maintain qualification

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS/EDUCATION:

• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school

WORK SCHEDULE:

• PRN  (coverage as needed for various shifts)
