Job description
A Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant is a healthcare professional responsible for the collection of blood samples from patients for various medical tests and procedures. Additionally, they may perform essential laboratory tasks to support the processing and analysis of collected specimens. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draw blood from patients by venipuncture, observing strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis to prevent infection of patient and contamination of specimens
- Make sure to use the two patient's identifiers, wash hands and change gloves in between patients
- Receive blood and other body fluid specimens sent to laboratory and order tests
- Centrifuge blood specimens in test tubes and capillary tubes to separate cells and sediment from blood serum
- Process samples according to standard protocol
Qualifications:
- A certified Phlebotomist in CA, with at least 1 year of phlebotomy/Lab assistant experience
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification
- Current CPR certification required
- Current Immunization Records
- Current PPD
Salary: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
