    POSITION

    PSE seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Development Associate to support the Development team in grants and fundraising processes and operational support. This is an exempt, full-time position. The successful candidate will assist the Development and Operations teams in the areas of database management and reporting, with an emphasis on institutional funding support, individual gifts, state- and federal-grants. These include implementation of grants policies and procedures; donor and constituent communication, and development operations. This also includes research on donors, foundations, state and federal grants and other opportunities as well as, calendaring, management of grant reporting deadlines, and annual compliance tasks.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Donor CRM Database : Create and maintain records in Salesforce of contact information for partners, donors, and prospects. Run regular reports and review for various communications, funded projects, or fundraising activities for cross-departmental work.

    Development and Research : Conduct research on upcoming funding and grant opportunities and identify potential donors from diverse sources including individuals, foundations, government, and private grant-making bodies. Organize and share funding prospects across the organization. Collaborate across program teams to coordinate proposal application submissions, including but not limited to managing deadlines, drafting budgets, ensuring requirements are adhered to, registering in online platforms and final application submission.

    Communications and Organization : Support the implementation of development strategies to foster strong donor stewardship, including maintaining an engagement calendar and ensuring donor gifts acknowledgement. Support grant proposals and application processes as requested.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    In addition to an ability to meet the above responsibilities, the position will require the applicant to possess most of the following skills, with some capabilities in the rest and an enthusiasm for learning:

    • At least 2+ years of experience working in nonprofit roles, fundraising, grants and development, or other administrative capacity
    • Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks effectively
    • Able to productively provide and receive feedback
    • Able to follow direction, work independently, and collaboratively
    • Excellent writing, communication, and social skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Tech savvy
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • A desire to learn
    • A sense of humor

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent
    • Experience using Salesforce Nonprofit CRM; Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc), Slack, Canva, and/or Mailchimp
    • A passion for the mission and work at PSE
    • Willingness to champion PSE in communications and get people excited about ideas presented
    • Able to tailor your communications to the audience
    • Thrives in fast-moving environment with competing tasks and deadlines
    • Creative thinker that is able to share new ideas or approaches to problem-solving
    • Willingness to ask questions for clarity when unclear about a task and communicate workload and priorities with manager

    LOCATION

    PSE is headquartered in Oakland, CA, but this is currently a remote or hybrid position.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    The anticipated salary range is $55,000-$72,500+, though the successful candidate could be hired above or below this range depending on qualifications and geographic location. Benefits are competitive and include health benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance), flexible spending and/or child/dependent care spending account, 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, 15 days of vacation to start, paid leave and 11+ paid holidays.
