    Job Description

    SUMMARY: The Test Engineer is a hands-on technical leader of a test lab team who supports product engineering and customer service by designing and building experiments, performing certified product testing, and evaluating product returns.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on work experience as Test/Reliability Engineer, Development Engineer or similar

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge designing, layout and building of plumbing, pneumatic and electrical schemes is required
    • LabView / National Instruments knowledge preferred
    • Experience in PLC programming and instrumentation desirable
    • Proven communication skills - Able to effectively communicate research processes, findings and conclusions
    • Interpersonal skills, must work in team setting and participate in cross-functional teams
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required
    • Solidworks or equivalent 3-D design experience desirable
    • Basic Machine shop experience desirable
    • Knowledge of fluid dynamics desirable
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities required

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Perform product testing
    • Write test reports and conclusions
    • Provide technical expertise in the area of testing, experimental design, and failure analysis
    • Create test plans and schedules for product validation required in new product development in collaboration with product development engineers
    • Design, layout and build new test equipment
    • Layout and installation of plumbing and pneumatic schemes and controls, wiring of electrical control circuits
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts with RMA pumps, creating reports and determining disposition, collaborating with engineers as needed
    • Draw conclusions from test results and makes recommendations for design or process changes accordingly
    • Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions and lab documentation
    • Works with hand/power tools, capable of working with machinery and can repetitively lift weights up to 50 lbs.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: The environment is both office and manufacturing. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
