    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, and debug of software used in PTS analyzers and proprietary manufacturing software.  With regard to this position, the Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements of the Quality System documentation as required for design control.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and debug of PTS analyzer software and peripherals using C on 8/16/32/64/128 bit microprocessors.
    • Design and debug of PTS manufacturing software using C#, Visual Basic on Microsoft Visual Studio platform.
    • Software architecture development with strong focus on code reviews and discipline.
    • Working knowledge of software design verification and validation activities in a regulated industry.
    • Generate formal reports, graphs, and/or charts using Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Maintain proper storage and history of released software using version control system.
    • Utilize bug tracking software.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet or exceed the experience requirements listed below.

    • Ability to design and implement embedded code in C programming language
    • Ability to comprehend hardware specifications including data sheets and schematics

     

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

    • Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

    • 2-3 years of experience in real-time embedded software preferred

    • Experience building applications in Microsoft Visual Studio in C# and Visual Basic

    • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) use and application

    • Proficient in the use of software development tools (compilers, emulators, debuggers, and chip programmers)

    • Medical device industry experience preferred

    • Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
