    PVM, Inc is actively seeking an experienced JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER with strong operations, maintenance and system administration skills, and an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.  PVM is looking for you to support our project in the Quantico, VA area. We are looking for a skilled Developer who will help facilitate the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting test and production environments. You will join our talented team of engineers who deliver mission critical capability to our USG client and ensure the highest levels of availability, performance and security. You should have a background in IT, systems administration, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis. We also expect you to demonstrate superb technical competency and strong teamwork skills.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals. 
    • Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure
    • Act proactively to organize the highest levels of systems and database accessibility. 
    • Perform data clean-up and object manipulation while maintaining data validity and integrity.
    • Evaluate application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, develop solutions, and implement them with the help of developers.
    • Contribute to the object design of information and application use of data models.
    • Update plans, project milestones, data and the database as necessary to ensure compliance 
    • Ability to identify the need, and or prepare for known or planned future data, database, platform, cross-domain solutions, other system and or operating or computing environment conversions.
    • Work together with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

    YOU HAVE

    • The UNRESTRICTED RIGHT TO WORK IN THE US WITHOUT REQUIRING SPONSORSHIP.
    • ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED
    • 2+ years' experience of working on a Systems Engineer position
    • Solid experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments
    • Excellent knowledge of data modeling improvement (data object, properties, links).
    • Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and interaction with users.

     

    ICING ON THE CAKE

    • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related area
    • Experience with automation software (such as Puppet, cfengine, Chef and so on) and with monitoring systems
    • Strong scripting skills, including shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python etc.
    • Strong database skills including optimization and cross-domain solutions.
    • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision. You understand that making mistakes means you're learning, and you actively seek opportunities to grow and develop.
