Required skills & experience (the 6 “must haves” to be considered)
1. `Current California Registered Nurse License
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Masters preferred
3. 2 to 5 years surgery experience and/or medical surgical floor nurse experience providing post-surgical care
4. Previous experience working with weight loss surgery patients preferred
5. Experience coordinating patient programs or services within an Acute Care facility
6. Wound Care Certification preferred

The Bariatric Program Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of Nursing. Below are the qualifications:
• Current California Registered Nurse License
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Two (2) to five (5) years surgery experience and/or medical surgical floor nurse experience providing post-surgical care to patients.
• Has experience in coordinating patient programs or services within an Acute Care facility.
• Has experience with surgical scheduling, insurance authorizations, and pre-surgery tests.
• Experience ensuring patients have received appropriate psychological and other counseling.
• Experience with facilitating support groups; holds frequent patient education events throughout Ventura County.
• Has experience with expanding ancillary services in regards to bariatrics patients such as exercise programs, nutritional seminars, community social events as well as yearly bariatrics outings.
• Has experience with staging continual in- services for nursing, transporters, etc.
• Has experience with pre-admit. Has experience with budget preparation and oversight.
• Experience with data tracking and Management and Quality Improvement activities.
• Ability to positively interact with all levels of employees and management. Strong problem solving, time management, and financial management skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Previous experience working with weight loss surgery patients preferred.
• Wound Care Certification preferred
