Required skills and experience:
*BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college.
*5+ years of product design experience.
*System engineering background preferred.
*Experience with manufacturing processes.
*Experience with standards and legislative requirements and how those
affect the design and acceptability of products.
*The position requires a highly-motivated, confident professional who is
willing to take action and prioritize responsibilities.
*The individual needs to react quickly, be flexible to changing direction, and
complete tasks on time.
*The candidate needs to take upstream ambiguity and craft system-level
boundaries and concretizing goals.
What you need to know:
*Support development of the platforming process and architectural decision
making into the product development process.
*Support development and maintenance of technical platform roadmap
process and act as a primary technical integration point for platform
roadmap.
*Develop and maintain architecture designs for future products capable of
meeting key attribute targets (performance, cost, quality) identified in the
product roadmap.
*Support definition of architecture and modularity rules to govern future
system development.
*Own system-level technical requirements and FMEAs.
*Develop system-level decomposing form and function tools.
*Develop system-level high-level trade-off and optimization reviews.
*Think holistically about the entire product life cycle.
*Anticipate failure modes and plans for risk mitigation and recovery.

The Systems Engineer will assist in developing those tools, talent, and internal product knowledge for all the Company’s product group. This is a great opportunity for someone to support the design, development, and launch strategy delivering significant cost, complexity reduction, while maintaining the high quality the company has always passed on to the customer.
This position will team with cross-functional areas such as Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers to identify consumer needs and wants, competitive reviews, develop technical solutions, control product evolution, and push project advancements.
